Certified OP Medical Coder

Mommy Jobs Online (https://mommyjobsonline.com) is now looking for someone to fill the position of a Certified OP Medical Coder to work virtually in the U.S. only.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Coder reviews Outpatient records and accurately assigns ICD-10-CM codes according to established guidelines with a 95% accuracy rate.
Ability to read and interpret health record documentation to identify all diagnoses and procedures that affect the current outpatient encounter visit, ancillary, inpatient professional fees, and surgical episodes.
Apply knowledge of current Diagnostic Coding and Reporting Guidelines for outpatient services.
Apply knowledge of Diagnostic, Procedure, Professional, and Surgical coding guidelines for inpatient services.
Apply knowledge of Common Procedural Terminology format, guidelines, and notes to locate the correct codes for all services and procedures performed during the encounter/visit and sequence them correctly.
Apply knowledge of procedural terminology to recognize when an unlisted procedure code must be used in Common Procedural Terminology.
Code in accordance with Coding Guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MUST be a U.S. citizen. High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two years experience in and ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and Healthcare. Working for the Federal Government and VHA guidelines. Knowledge of 3M, Cerner, Nuance, VistA, and CPRS.
CPC or other Billing and coding certification is required.
CCS from AHIMA is preferred. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential from AHIMA is preferred.
Registered Health Information Technician credential from AHIMA is preferred.
Experience in health record coding outpatient.
One year of experience in 3M, VHA Guidelines, Nuance, 95%/+ accuracy, working for the VA, and CPRS/CCM/VistA is preferred.
Two years of OP coding is preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Knowledge of Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting. High level of competence in coding ICD-10-CM/PCS with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work as a team.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to investigate patient accounts for accuracy and completeness.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with co-workers and management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Computer, Internet, and a home office set-up.

PAYMENT: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
